[Recruiter] is partnered with an influential oil and gas operator who have recently cemented themselves as a definitive leader in the industry. In this thriving coal seam gas sector, our client has proposed to build one of the largest greenfields LNG facilities on the east coast of Australia and as a result, is expanding their exploration and development teams across the board.
To meet their calculated growth plans, that incorporates: exploration, technical engineering and senior management, the immediate focus is to appoint a Lead Drilling Engineer to lead and supervise a team of technical drilling professionals.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
· Mentor and lead the drilling team
· Assist with the identification of drilling technology, closely working with the petroleum teams
· Optimise drilling performance, design well casing and perform calculations involving hydraulics, weights & pressure and evaluating data
· Supervision of well design, planning and preparation
· Management of day to day drilling activities
· Ensure wells achieve their key technical and cost objectives and meet HSE and quality standards
As the successful candidate, your background and qualifications will include:
· Tertiary qualifications in Petroleum Engineering or similar
· 10+ years’ oil and gas drilling operations experience
· High level of project, contract and people management skills
· Fully conversant with HSE management systems compliance and implementation
