Position Details:
Associate level position responsible for business office administrative activities within the Human Resources department.
 
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the proper processing, maintenance and retention of employment related files and records.
  • Provides administrative support and coordinates the timely completion of Human Resources-related paperwork.
  • Serves as the central entry and processing point for Compensation, Benefits and Employment-related status changes.
  • Coordinates with Business Unit/Shared Services Human Resources' staff in the maintenance of employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Utilizes knowledge of Human Resources policies and benefit plans to review transaction documents for accuracy and adherence with established policies, practices and procedures.
  • Takes appropriate action to seek resolution and troubleshoot outstanding issues.
  • Provides routine information regarding interpretation of policies, procedures, benefit plans and job opportunities.
  • Reviews, verifies and codes vendor invoices and submits for approval.
  • Coordinates mass mailings.
  • Answers, screens and routes incoming calls to the appropriate individual; receives and delivers messages.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
 
Experience / Qualifications:
  • An Associates degree in Business or a related field, or
  • A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and one year administrative experience in human resources, payroll or related field.
  • 30 words per minute typing.
 
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide basic types of factual information.
 
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
 
Computer Skills:
Requires working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports and/or graphics.
 
Work Conditions:
Works in an indoor environment.
Requires frequently performing activities, including, but not limited to, stooping, bending, crawling, kneeling, grasping, reaching, climbing and/or lifting.
