Position Duties / Responsibilities
Manages and supervises the startup activities on one or more projects or for a global business unit. Plans and directs startup assignments on the project(s). Technical responsibility for organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments. Makes day-to-day decisions within assigned area or project and makes recommendations to department or project management regarding policy and procedure. Responsible for review of project designs and recommendation of changes to design so that projects are safe and operable. May direct startup operations on a project at the jobsite location. Global business unit startup managers are responsible for oversight and coordination of multiple projects within the global business unit.
- Responsible for the startup and/or operations activities on a small- or medium-sized project, or designated portions of a large project, as assigned.
- Assists in preparation of project proposals.
- Directs the preparation of portions of or assists in the preparation of operations manuals.
- Supervises and provides technical guidance to personnel assigned to projects or tasks within area of responsibility.
- Broad working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and facilities operations criteria pertinent to the activities supervised.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor or science degree in Engineering or equivalent related work experience.
- Prior experience in precommissioning, commissioning and startup of systems / facilities.
- Prior experience leading facility operations.
Preferred:
- Prior experience as an operations manager on a petrochemical facility.
- Prior experience precommissioning, commissioning and startup of systems in petrochemical facilities.
- Prepare facility operations philosophy and procedures.
- Responsible for supervising facility operations and operations personnel.
- Responsible to ensure all facility equipment is placed in service and operated in a safe and prudent manner.
- Coordinate operations activities with startup personnel, Client's management and operations personnel, and outside regulatory agencies.
- Work hours as required. This will include working all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as the need arises.
- Responsible for on the job training of Client's operations personnel.
- Manage the facility Lockout / Tagout program and maintain facility and system operational status.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or relevant practical experience and training with [Company] procedures, operations, and startup of large capital projects during the commissioning and startup stage.
- Position is located at the site in [Location] in the UAE, anticipated duration is approximately 10-12 months.
- AGDII is a natural gas processing and compression plant with NGL recovery.
