This position is assigned both on and offshore
 
 
Minimum Education & Skills
 
  • BSc Degree or higher in Geophysics
  • At least 12 years industry experience
  • Working knowledge of geology and petrophysics
  • Fluency in English – both oral and written
 
 
Particular/Preferred Experience
 
  • Detailed knowledge of Chinese Petroleum Industry
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of seismic acquisition and interpretation, with a focus towards offshore field development
 
 
Scope of Work/Job Duties
 
  • Identifying and evaluate prospects, plan and supervise geophysical studies and operations in the companies’ operated acreage.
  • Work with the well planning team to design wells, and the operational team to assist in the drilling process.
  • Advising E&E Manager on geophysical aspects of new business opportunities.
  • Identifying and assessing the most appropriate sources of data and taking steps to capture and quality assure all available data.
  • Interpreting, mapping and integrating geophysical data gathered.
  • Integrating geophysical data to aid reservoir characterization to define reservoir uncertainty and risk, and including application of seismic attribute analysis where appropriate.
  • To assist in the characterization of reservoirs for modeling (geomodels, simulation) and surveillance by integrating with other disciplines within the team as appropriate.
  • Define subsurface well targets and compiling well proposals with clear justification and objectives.
  • Update the seismic inversion data cube by inputting new delineation & development wells data in timely manner, provide management with new proposals on well locations and targets.
  • To be fully aware of reservoir uncertainties and risk and quantify these in the volumetric calculation process.
  • To be a member of the Joint Operations Group at the development stage.
