The Production Quality Engineer works within the Manufacturing Quality function. Typical duties include resolution of manufacturing quality issues, identification of root causes and resolution of quality problems to prevent re-occurance. The Project Quality Engineer is a key member of the Manufacturing Quality team, and has substantial product responsibility and exposure to customers within a matrix structure.
 
 
Essential Responsibilities
  • Accountable for supporting the Quality within Manufacturing QA Team, Products conformance and Lean Sigma strategies planning and co-ordination of workshops to improve process ownership
  • Maintain, analyse and report meaningful Quality compliance statistics and assist line management and supervision to devise action plans to correct any negative trends
  • Actively Influence the business process owners to achieve robust process
  • Improvement Quality Strategic Goals
  • Use of problem solving tools will be required at all times and an ability to step back and understand problems from a technical and manufacturing perspective.
  • Ensure compliance to business management processes and systems
  • Train and facilitate business process owners, to improve individual process ownership and delivery of process performance measures
  • Picks up daily issues with product quality
  • Chairs MRB's and drives process to establish containment and preventative actions
  • Works with production engineering to establish best practice build methods and quality plans
  • Supports lean initiatives and aims to remove waste wherever possible, this should include unnecessary inspections etc
 
 
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Experience of quality tools, such as 8D/Fish bone/Brainstorming
  • Ability to lead problem solving teams and bring problems to conclusion
 
 
Desired Characteristics
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Experience of mechanical and electronics assembly environment
