Role synopsis
The challenge Geophysicist will work within a multi-disciplinary team along with experienced geoscientists and engineers to manage and develop oil and gas reservoirs. Geophysicists study the physical response of the earth using remote methods. They interpret data gathered from seismic surveys to construct maps of the sub-surface, that help identify and quantify prospective hydrocarbon accumulations in a cost efficient way. Advanced computer work stations and Highly Interactive Visual Environments are important technologies that the successful candidate will become familiar with and use to visualise, interpret and integrate data. This is a development role where the successful candidate will contribute to delivery of the team’s objectives from the beginning of the assignment.
Key accountabilities will be determined when you join the programme.
Essential criteria & qualifications
- Citizen of Trinidad & Tobago or a resident who is legally permitted to accept employment in Trinidad & Tobago.
- No more than 2 years work experience.
- Degree in a closely related discipline with:
- A minimum of an upper second class honours OR
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 OR 4.0 out of 5.0 OR
- A post graduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or distinction.
Desirable criteria & qualifications
- Team player, providing assistance, as required
- Strong performance bias
- Good communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of technical specialists.
