My client, an international oilfield services company, is looking for a Regional Operations Manager to join their company.
This emerging and growing oilfield services company has an experienced group of staff and is focused on further expanding its international presence. They operate a well-established contract drilling and well servicing business, with substantial business in Canada, the United States and much of Latin America. With a fleet of over 60 rigs, my client offers a fast-paced, challenging work environment. A privately held company owned by a shareholder group, they are focused on entering into new technologies and bucking trends to deliver new ideas to the field. This company offers international exposure and travel to their employees, as well as extensive growth opportunities within the company and an opportunity to take in a lot of knowledge about the industry. They also offer excellent training and development opportunities.
Based in one of the company's Mexico offices and reporting to the Regional Director - Mexico and Central America, the Regional Operations Manager will have operational and financial responsibility for conducting the business of the company's business interests in Mexico and Central America.
Some specific accountabilities include:
- Overall management of the Regional office and all of its operations.
- Directing the effective performance of Operations Managers.
- Working closely with Finance, Human Resources, Training & Development, IT and Supply Chain Management at the regional and corporate level, provide oversight to all functional areas at the country level.
- Working closely with HSE at the regional and corporate level to establish a consistent safety culture throughout the operations.
- Leading and directing strategic initiatives as set at the Corporate and Regional Level
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 20 years of drilling experience including land-based projects;
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience as an Operations Manager (or higher position);
- Previous experience working for an oilfield services company;
- Technical degree preferred;
- Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written);
- Previous international experience;
- Marketing skills and the ability to find new clients and answer to the commercial tenders;
- Ability to motivate team members to achieve company goals and to develop their potential within the company;
- Skills in financial analysis;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong computer skills (spreadsheet and word processing).
