Job Specification:
 
As Tendering Engineer your role will be to develop, prepare and submit winning tenders to customers whilst safeguarding the Company's commercial interests during sales, tendering and contract negotiation phases of any project. Key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Assisting in preparing timely, winning tenders/bids in response to customer enquiries with the objective of delivering a preferred solution to the customer
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of standardised tender qualifications (commercial, contractual and technical) in conjunction with the Finance, Engineering and Operations departments
  • Reporting tender/contract status and expected tender status to the Project and Operations Director on a regular basis
  • Assisting with the process of moving from successful tender to firm contract, ensuring that the company's commercial and legal interests are protected and that the company's risk and exposure is fully quantified and accepted by the Company board of Directors
  • Developing a working knowledge of corporate procedures and ensuring departmental compliance therein
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documentation and tender pricing/costs - obtaining approval from the Board of Directors prior to tender issue
  • Assisting in the evaluation and normalisation of third party requests for quotation as may be required
 
The successful applicant will have previous bids/tenders experience preferably gained within the oil and gas industry. A degree level qualification e.g Quantity Surveying, Law or Management/Business would be preferred but is not essential. You should have excellent organisational and team working skills with strong written and verbal communication skills and competent IT skills (including Microsoft Excel), a knowledge of contract law would be advantageous but is not essential.
 
This role offers a salary of £30-40K (depending on experience).
