Our client is looking for an experienced professional to manage all aspects of the approvals and permitting process across a broad scope for upstream and downstream facilities for an oil and gas project.
The primary purpose of this role is to maintain responsibility for managing all aspects of the Regulatory approvals process across a broad scope. You will work closely with government and regulatory bodies required to achieve environmental approvals, as well as consulting with community groups to ensure that their feedback and issues are addressed.
You will liaison closely with government and regulatory bodies with respect to obtaining environmental approvals and licenses for project implementation and operation under various legislation including:
· Queensland and Australian resource legislation (Mineral, Coal, Petroleum and pipelines)
· Environmental Licensing and Approvals for Qld and NSW
· Sound knowledge of the Petroleum and Gas Act and amendments
· Local Government Laws
The successful candidate will have:
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels of the organisation.
· You will be able to initiate and implement work independently and lead a small team
· Strong technical writing skills and relevant tertiary qualifications (engineer or scientist)
· 10 years experience in the licensing and approvals area
· Background in environmental management, particularly within the qld environmental approvals system and australian resource legislation (minerals, coal, petroleum, and pipelines) .
· Sound knowledge of the petroleum and gas act and amendments.
· Environmental Approvals for Oil & Gas exploration and pipeline construction projects experience will be highly regarded
