Our client is part of one of Eastern Canada’s leading industrial groups, specializing in new ship construction, ship repair, ship conversion and vessel refits. We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and self directed individual to assist in their workforce growth and development initiative.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, manage design change request and change request process

Manage integrity of vessel configuration data

Document communications related to configuration changes and ensure documentation is available when needed

Produce design configuration status reports

Control drawing and technical document release

Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Educational Requirements:

Five years of technical experience related to configuration management within engineering projects

Interpret and integrate technical concepts, read drawings and specifications

Knowledge of marine industry standards and/or regulations and Shipboard equipment and systems

Shipyard process experience, especially with respect to the engineering, planning, repair/build phases

Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)

Experience with specialized database software for the purpose of configuration management

Auditing experience
