Our client, a major oil and gas exploration and production company has recently acquired businesses and established project branches here in Australia and throughout South East Asia. Due to their growth strategies and their history in successful exploration and production there is currently a position available for a suitably qualified and experienced Geophysicist.
You will be required to perform various activities in geophysical hydrocarbon exploration and development, e.g., hydrocarbon seismic acquisitions and processing; well seismic calibrations.
This career advancing opportunity will demand a readiness to relocate for project specifics and the ability to work offshore and overseas on assignments.
It is essential that you possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:
· Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geotechnology, or a related field
· Experience in hydrocarbon exploration and development in seismic interpretation, acquisition and processing
· Related experience will be considered: mud-logging, geo-engineering
· Previous experience involving core logging, cuttings and structural studies, evaluation and determination, geophysical analysis, and drilling target planning will be highly regarded.
· Effective English communication skills
· Strong computing skills with MS Office Applications
· Readiness to work offshore, and in international locations
