Description:
The Payroll Administrator reports to the Payroll Supervisor. This person will perform duties related to the calculation and payment of payroll and is responsible for compiling payroll data and maintaining payroll records.
This position is located at our Professional Park Office in SE Calgary. Tired of commuting downtown? This is a great opportunity for anyone who may live in south Calgary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and compile payroll data
- Verify and process payroll, including calculation of hours, special adjustments, bonuses, advances, deductions, taxes, etc.
- Prepare and distribute pay advices.
- Verify and produce Record of Employment.
- Maintain payroll files for all divisions and subsidiaries as required.
- Calculate Revenue Canada/Dept. of Revenue remittances and remit prior to due date.
- Process and remit employee arrears and garnishee of wages for each pay period.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll calculations and general payroll questions in a prompt & professional manner.
- Provide Year-end reporting and processing assistance, including the printing and reconciling of T4s.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in the Canadian Payroll Association certification program and working towards the completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification
- 2 or more year's previous payroll administration experience would be considered an asset.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with in-house HRIS systems such as People Soft would be beneficial.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
