The Data Services Lead will manage the following data services:
• Data Modeling (EDM)
• Data Quality (DQ)
• Business Objects
• Enterprise Information Integration
The Data Services Lead has the overall responsibility for the architecture, design, build and operational support of these data services and is accountable for the success and performance of data services within the ISDC. This role reports to the Data Manager (ES ISDC).
Key accountabilities
• Accountable for the overall quality of the EDM, DQ and Business Objects data services from the Integration and Data Centre
• Accountable for the development and managing to the Data Services Terms of Reference and ongoing plans
• Responsible for the Data Services communication plan and approach
• Responsible for ensuring alignment of the Projects and Run Service Managers and working with Enterprise Systems Strategy & Architecture for strategic roadmaps
• Responsible for the 1-2+ year strategic plan for the EDM, DQ and Business Objects Data Services
• Responsible for influencing ES Project/Programme Managers, Functional Architects and the Business to maintain common master data designs
• Responsible for growing the data services intellectual property with [Company] staff
• Responsible for appropriate capacity management of the Data Services to meet resource supply and demand
• Responsible for supporting functional Data Services staff for Project Delivery as well as Run Support (estimates, fit/gap, pilots, etc.)
• Works with Vendor Management for staff augmentation and outsourcing performance measurement to provide the EDM, DQ and Business Objects Data Services
• Management and oversight of complex multi-functional design, deployments, and troubleshooting supporting a total of ~$2M spend
Essential criteria & qualifications
• Strong data services (design and delivery) track record
• Ability to manage geographically dispersed teams across three continents
• Ability to create excellent, cooperative working relationships within ES – specifically with Application Support and Project Delivery
• Strong awareness of [Company] business (Oil & Gas) and IT&S strategies (existing architectures, application support, centralized deployments)
• Ability to demonstrate a clear track record of achievement in a similar role with specific examples where peers/leadership was directly influenced to achieve key strategic goals
• Ability to demonstrate ownership of key decisions on project delivery or support of strategic value where budgets of $2M were at stake
• Strong Architectural capability / knowledge (TOGAF)
• Excellent leadership and influencing capabilities esp. decision making
• Release Management experience
Qualification & Certification:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Proven experience managing budgets/programmes of ~$1-2M spend
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Financial acumen/commercial awareness
• Project Management experience
• SDLC awareness
• ITIL3 awareness
