Our client, a leading EPCM Joint venture has a vacancy for a Programme Functional Planning Manager to work on their Iron Ore Upgrade and Development projects. This is a [Location] based, long term contract position which will require the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
The Programme Functional Planning Manager is responsible for the overall Programme planning, scheduling, and progressing activities necessary for the successful execution of the Programme. The Programme Planning Manager ensures qualified, competent, trained planning staffs are in place, and all procedures are adhered to in his effort to set and control plans, schedules and budgets.
Some of your duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Administration of all planners and scheduler staffs
· Development of planning and progressing procedures.
· Oversight for consistent implementation of the planning and progressing procedures and practices
· Training of planners and schedulers across the Programme
· Responsible for the development of the overall programme schedule infrastructure to include Work Breakdown Structure, Overall Project Plan, Code of Accounts, Project Project Schedule and resource requirements to execute the project.
· Directs progress and performance measurement activities on all facets of the project - Engineering, Contracts, Materials and Equipment Procurement and Construction.
· Lead spokesman for programme on areas of Project Progress and Planning.
· Provides technical and operational direction to planners and schedulers.
· Reviews draft construction contracts for adequacy of schedule requirements
· Conducts personnel performance reviews and career counselling. Interviews candidates for engagement and approves employment decisions
· Understanding both equipment and human resource capability and productivities
· Ability to manage and lead a diverse team
· Ability to implement progress and performance measures
In order to be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 10 years experience in planning on EPCM projects, holding a variety of planning positions including both site and office-based roles. You will have tertiary engineering qualifications and preferably and significant management and business experience.
