Reporting to the Project Quality Manager on site, the Quality Inspector for the project will be responsible for the following:
- Perform and report visual inspections and dimensional control inspections
- Perform and record material verification as required
- Record and report all non-conformances as detailed by the Quality Assurance System and procedures
- Clear understanding of contractual obligation, standards, procedures, specifications and tolerances for all work in progress
- Perform and report on all incoming inspection of materials received and final inspections as required by the Quality Assurance System
- Participate in the investigation of non-conformances and corrective action resolution as required
- Inspect and verify the completion of all punch-list items
- Upon completion of inspections, advise production personnel of results
- Guide and direct the other Quality Inspectors working on the project.
Requirements:
- Must have CWB Level 2 Certification, CSTS training
- Minimum of 5 years welding inspection experience
- Prior experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing or energy related experience
- Sound knowledge of CSA W59 and W47.1 Structural steel and ASME B31.3, pressure piping code, and regulatory requirements
- Sound knowledge of formal quality assurance program requirements for ISO 9001:2000
This position will be based on site in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Relocation/travel costs and accommodations are not covered; however Living Out Allowance is provided if you are not a resident of Fort McMurray. Also, bussing transportation is provided to and from the site. The current project schedule is 10 hour days, on a rotation of 10 days on and 4 days off.
