Description:
Our Fort McMurray client is looking for a Corporate Construction Technology Lead for a long term contract in Fort McMurray that could turn into a permanent role. The Corporate Construction Technology Lead is a senior engineer who will be working with construction management for a large upcoming oilsands project. The primary work location is in Fort McMurray however there will be required travel to the US on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop project specific construction erection drawings, plans & procedures
- Stamp to drawings, calculations, procedures etc. required for project contract documents and/or provincial legislation
- Review corporate equipment drawings and calculations and make all necessary adjustments and apply P Eng stamp.
- Review and stamp all lift studies prior to the project and make any changes required at the project site if conditions or circumstances change.
- Provide calculations and, if required, stamp construction applications not covered by corporate standard details, procedures, erection manuals and or manufactures recommendations to any items the construction team identify as requiring review or input by a professional engineer.
- Evaluate corporate work methods presently used and suggest improvements in erection methods & procedures
- Work closely with craft supervision and construction management to ensure construction schedules are not impacted by items requiring P Eng stamp.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be a Professional Engineer registered with APEGGA.
- Must have a minimum of 15 years experience in construction and design engineering, preferably with oilsands projects.
- Ability to apply knowledge of engineering and construction practices in producing information leading to safe, cost effective and quality construction of structures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively within Corporate Construction Team as well as others inside and outside the company so that work is performed in an informed manner suitable to the needs of the project.
- Ensure that all regulations, codes, corporate policies & procedures, industry requirements and project specific requirements are met.
