We are seeking a qualified Mechanic to work in a fully mobile camp that travels to remote locations around Australia.
Competitive rates will be on offer for the right person.
The position is 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work autonomously and will be entirely responsible for keeping a mobile camp, production and support vehicles maintained to a reliable and safe standard.
The person we are seeking will need to be a good all-rounder as the work is varied and challenging. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable working on a wide range of equipment including light 4x4 vehicles, all wheel drive trucks, prime movers and trailers, generators, pumps, accommodation and other camp caravans.
Essential:
· Relevant trade qualification
· Extensive experience with heavy vehicles
· Ability to maintain older vehicles
· Experience in maintenance of 4x4 Toyota & Nissan diesels
· Minimum HR licence
· High level of physical fitness
· Ability to work in harsh environmental conditions
· Must be able to pass pre-employment medical and ongoing drug/alcohol screening
Desirable:
· Experience in maintaining vehicles to National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation standards
· Automotive air-conditioning accreditation
· HC, MC licence
