Position Duties / Responsibilities
- Leads, directs, and trains team members on Information Technology (IT) processes and tools to support medium-sized projects of moderate complexity.
- Develops and maintains the Project IT Plan for the life cycle of the project.
- Develops and directs implementation of IT systems and services in coordination with global business unit requirements.
- Provides comprehensive automation support and coordination to the project; identifies and implements technical innovations that add value and improve project work processes.
- Develops and directs implementation of the IT portion of the project closeout plan.
- Performs work and makes informed decisions that require the application of a significant range of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable variety of contexts, either in a technical lead or advisory capacity.
The position entails the following responsibilities:
- Direct the implementation of IS&T systems and services at the Angola project jobsite including applications, hardware, software, and telecommunications.
- Responsible to ensure that [Company] procedures, Project procedures, and management instructions are fully implemented and adhered to by jobsite personnel.
- Lead the implementation of jobsite computing infrastructure and Bechtel standard application software at the jobsite.
- By understanding the project goals and objectives, ensure proposed solutions are fit for purpose both from a business and technical perspective. Where necessary, needs to dialog with the client, vendors or other project partners in ensuring the optimum IT solution for the project.
- A leadership role in implementing risk mitigation strategies and lead responsibilities for preparedness and implementation of the site disaster recovery plan.
- Supervise other IS&T team members who are assigned to the jobsite including the facilitation of career development and personnel management.
- Direct, execute, and maintain the site portion of the Project IT Plan and coordinate its review and approval.
- Lead role in developing and implementing the IT portion of the project closeout plan.
- Plan, support, and coordinate project automation requirements and record best practices.
- Provide and coordinate direct user support to project personnel for computing infrastructure and [Company] standard applications.
- Process and implement non-standard requests according to global/regional automation policies and procedures.
- Monitor work status and manages cost against a defined milestone schedule. Initiate trends as required for review and approval.
- Adhere to [Company] safety program as it relates to Project IT.
- Participate in the Six Sigma process by providing innovative ideas and suggestions that will enhance project performance.
- Maintain accurate and timely asset management and inventory control of computer hardware and software.

Other Remarks/Qualifications
- This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively with site management, program management, and the client.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architecture, IT security, network infrastructure, and system backup and recovery.
- The ability to deal with multiple organizations and priorities is critical.
- The position requires seven years of equivalent experience and a degree in Computer Science or engineering or a demonstrated ten years of equivalent IT experience.
- Working knowledge of the [Company] Standard Applications and integration schemes would be a definite asset.
- MCSE certification would be an asset.
- Six Sigma yellow belt certification would be an asset.
- Engineering, Procurement and/or Construction (EPC) experience in the power industry would be an asset.
- Possess a basic understanding of business case analysis.
- Ability to work closely and create relationships with suppliers, and project team.
- Strong ability to partner with client organization and to review and understand work processes.
- Experience with work process improvement, application integration, and the implementation of continuous improvement techniques.
- Self motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an uncertain work environment.
- Demonstrated risk analysis and decision making skills.
- Exhibit a through understanding of the IS&T value proposition, products and services, as they relate to business delivery and project execution
- Understand EPC project business models and execution approach.
