Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- The Wireline Sonde Technician will work in a lab/shop environment.
- Troubleshooting and repair of the proprietary downhole mechanical & electronic sensors used in the logging of oil & gas wells.
- Troubleshooting and repair of the all specialty assets and sonde's
- Visiting the field to assist with troubleshooting issues or to deliver replacement equipment as required.
- Completion of extensive tool modifications as necessary.
- Communicate with field personnel in solving tool or system issues in person or over the phone in a professional manner.
- Maintain the preventative maintenance program.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs or tool modifications performed via the company's database.
- Communicate with other departments in the company with regards to tool or system performance.
- Assist in training other Specialists and Sonde Technicians when required.
- Assist in educating field staff in tool maintenance or operation as required.
- Maintain a safe, professional and organized lab environment.
- Parts procurement as required.
- Shipping and receiving of items as required.
- Participate in the On-call responsibilities.
Qualifications / Skills:
- High school Education or vocational technical training.
- English Language, written and spoken is essential
- Computer Literate
- Knowledge of the tools and systems Company provides.
- Knowledge of Company safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Knowledge of the general application and operating concepts of the electronic tools, surface instrumentation and log measurement.
- Must be able to analyze and read hydraulic and electronic schematics
Experience:
- Must have a minimum 2 years previous Wireline Experience as a Sonde Technician
- Must be capable of performing variety of repairs and modifications to all mechanical & electronic parts of the tools.
- Must have excellent trouble shooting skills to identify faulty parts and components.
