JOB PURPOSE - OVERALL SUMMARY
Create business opportunities and increase revenues for [Company] through the ongoing development of client projects by identifying solutions within Wellhead Systems business unit and encompassing project solutions to give long term client value while maximizing profit. To communicate opportunities to regional and product line management.
The main function will be to generate and lead sales activities for the wellhead product line in the Asia Pacific market and for Asia Pacific region Clients operating internationally. In addition there will be requirements to focus on establishing, enhancing and maintaining close working relationships with existing Wellhead Systems clients as well as identification and development of new business opportunities to accomplish stated growth plans for the Asia Pacific region and in countries where for Asia Pacific region oil & gas companies operate.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position Reports to: Region Business Unit Manager, Asia Pacific
Directly Supervises: None at this time
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Budget/Revenue responsibility:
- Participation in budget preparation cycle
- Define market from a financial perspective
- Meet revenue targets and demonstrate business growth
Other relevant values:
- Strong financial acumen and an understanding of oilfield equipment pricing structures
- Client communication and Client Satisfaction through [Company] business growth
- Market data assimilation, with assistance from Region Marketing Manager, to ensure that [Company] are ahead of market trends.
Signatory Authority:
- Signatory Authority for Expenditure as per Grant of Authority (GOA)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strictly adhere and contribute to both [Company] and Client Quality Management and HSE systems by playing a pro-active role in all business related matters, and adopt the 5 core One [Company] behaviours.
- Promote [Company] Solutions across all Product Lines within the for Asia Pacific Market and in countries where for Asia Pacific region Clients operate, and develop new business opportunities to support the growth expectations of the company.
- Proactively work with [Company] regional management and operational personnel to actively seek and win business.
- Ensure that the industry as a whole is fully aware of the extent of products, services and solutions capabilities in [Company] portfolio.
- Take the lead role in the development of business opportunities for an allocated pool of clients and update and populate data bases and CRM/Strategic Planning applications on a daily basis (for example FOCUS and SHAREPOINT)
- Define in communication with Region VPs, Strategic BD, Commercial and Product Line Managers tactical, technical and commercial execution plans and forward looking strategy
- Liaise closely with Product Line Managers and other [Company] managers on the development of our products that can maximise client efficiencies, and profit. Identify areas in the market, particularly domestic for Asia Pacific region, where [Company] can build niche solutions such as in Well Head Systems applications.
- Establish and nurture major client relationships with the appropriate well construction, development, engineering and purchasing staff employed by Operators, and with similar relevant employees of service companies offering "integrated services solutions".
- Development and growth of market share by targeting key projects, the project decision makers and senior engineering staff, and convert opportunities into revenue streams through technical and commercial work.
- Establish a comprehensive knowledge of [Company] capabilities and service. Maintain an up to date knowledge of [Company] portfolio of services, product and solutions offerings as they develop.
- Contribute to the preparation and compilation of the commercial content of documents relating to pre-qualifications, quotations and tenders in readiness for timely submission in an accurate and professionally presented manner. This will be carried out in conjunction with others in all [Company] Regions
- Provide leadership in the promotion of client opportunities to other members of BD/Sales Teams ensure common purpose and help direct the teams to ensure the objectives of the Client projects are met.
- Monitor and report on competitor and operator activity. Utilise market information to gain knowledge on marketplace and customers to recommend business proposals and provide information to all levels of management.
- Compile business development reports on an 'as-required' basis to Manager, typically monthly.
- Gather information for, and pro-actively contribute to, the processes of business planning and contribute to the appropriate regional budget cycles
- Ensure with Manager that sufficient resources are available to allow full and proper implementation of the key objectives.
- Be comfortable in travelling to and working with clients overseas. It is expected that up to 2 weeks travelling per month may be required, primarily in the Asia Pacific region.
- As required contribute to planning and execution of applicable[Company] marketing events and be prepared to travel to client premises for high level presentations and discussions.
- Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.

ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION
- Work in Company and Client offices in locations anywhere in the world.
- Ability to appropriately entertain clients as required whilst adhering strictly to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and Compliance guidelines.
- Full Driving License is preferred but not essential
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
Must have completed tertiary education in a Technical subject, but Ideally should have a Degree in Engineering / Petroleum Engineering or similar relevant technical subject.
Preferred:
2nd Degree in Marketing / Business Management
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
Essential:
- Must have at 10 years relevant experience in Well Engineering Business, ideally which should have been in a technical system capacity, or as a minimum have a strong background in the marketing sector of these technologies.
- Must be an excellent communicator and be comfortable to work in a range of client and Weatherford locations.
- Must have existing oilfield client relationships.
- Must have a demonstrated knowledge of well construction techniques and a good understanding of oilfield infrastructure.
- Demonstrated managerial / supervisory experience
- Essential to have strong communication skills, along with an ability to work in a team environment, as well as an ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems.
- Must have demonstrated keyboard/computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- Must be able to ultimately progress towards presentation of the full Weatherford product offerings to for Asia Pacific region Clients in English
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Essential:
- Written & Spoken fluency in English language

- Must have a good commercial awareness.
- Must be a team player with good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have strong negotiation skills.
- In line with nature of the position - working out with normal hours of business will be required, therefore flexibility in this area is important.
Preferred:
- An ability to think "out of the box" to establish new client technical opportunities
Required for future development:
- Be able to Cross Train other Staff in own specialty Technical areas either from historical knowledge or gained over time
