Job Description:
Our Oil & Gas Client is in need of a Senior Contracts Specialist - Exploration in Houston, Texas.
Accountabilities:
- Assurance of global compliance with Corporate, CSG and S&L policies, procedures and statutory requirements
- Drive commercial contracting excellence and manage risk effectively
- Increased operational efficiencies by optimisation of contracting services
- Improved relationships with internal customers, functional teams and other Sites
- Improvements in Service Levels
- Increased data accuracy, management ownership and user trust / confidence in the SAP and CMS Systems
- Improved control and decision making using standard tools available in the system
- Increased visibility / audit ability across the integrated supply chain and an understanding of the mutual impacts of process aligned teams
- Improved lead time performance within contracting process ensuring contracts are awarded in timely fashion to meet business requirements
- Maintain an accurate contracts register reflecting all relevant Exploration/New Ventures contracts' status including performance data
- Improved contractor relationships
Experience / Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent (Business or Supply Chain Preferred)
- MBA Desired
- Min 5 years experience in the resources or energy industry with exposure to major exploration projects in supply chain management
- Contract negotiation experience (local & international) with a detailed understanding of required contract terms, risks and benefits of variation of contract type and terms
- An understanding of upstream E&P business especially exploration and new ventures
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management in remote locations
- Superior problem solving skills
- Risk and business management skills
- Superior communication and problem solving skills
- MS Office required, SAP R3 MM highly desirable
