Job Description:
Supervision of the QA/QC Function:
Works with management to create the QA/QC goals, priorities, and key performance measures.
Oversees and monitors the effectiveness and quality of all regional QA/QC programs in achieving project goals and standards; provides summaries of program effectiveness and maturity.
Assists management in the fulfillment of required QA/QC mandates.
Audits and Inspections:
- Ensures audit program supports local customer and regulatory requirements for quality assurance and quality control.
- Schedules audits and inspections of project facilities, rigs, and support locations.
- Audits adherence to established policies, processes, and procedures, and determines corrective actions for compliance.
- Reviews audit and inspection reports; monitors the completion of all corrective actions identified on audits and inspections.
- Oversees the regulatory compliance and safety measures required for project operations.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control:
- Manages the continuous process improvement system within the project; tracks and reports results.
- Reviews procedures before implementation to ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Manages vendor/supplier qualification and performance assessment within the project.
- Tracks infractions found during audits; analyzes the root causes, and determines and recommends process improvements.
- Develops tender support documentation for bid tenders.
Other:
- Maintains knowledge of and complies with applicable regulations; ensures all QA/QC policies, programs, and activities comply.
- Participates in industry and regulatory seminars and conferences.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications:

- Must be able to understand and work mathematical equations.
- Must be able to problem solve.
- Must be a self-motivator and work without close supervision.
- Must be able to prioritize jobs and work under tight time constraints.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering or relevant subject is required.
- Must have 7 to 10 years experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant military experience.
- Must understand, interpret, and implement applicable regulations within project regulatory jurisdiction.
- Must possess an in-depth understanding of the complexities of worldwide drilling operations, work cultures, and the inherent risks associated with drilling operations.
- Working experience with an international drilling contractor is required.
- Must have excellent computer skills (preferably Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Access®, PowerPoint® and Outlook® software).
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Foreign language helpful but not required
- Strong communications skills (oral and written)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Lead auditor certification is required.
