Role Summary/Purpose
The Business Development Associate will provide support in the implementation of the inorganic growth strategy of [Company], including supporting the BD Leader and senior members in executing diligence and strategic evaluation of acquisitions, JV’s, dispositions and other BD opportunities
 
 
Essential Responsibilities
  • As an integral part of the [Company] Global Business Development organization, your responsibilities include:
  • Conduct market and industry analysis supporting strategy definition and strategic portfolio assessment;
  • Support origination and evaluation of acquisition or joint venture;
  • Analyze deal opportunities from strategic, operational and financial aspects;
  • Prepare deal recommendation and proposal packages;
  • Develop detailed financial models for various types of transactions;
  • Support deal execution process: due diligence, reporting and negotiation
 
 
Qualifications/Requirements
 
Required:
  • BS/BA degree, 3+2 years (Economics or Engineering preferred);
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a highly independent, unstructured, but intensely results-oriented environment
  • Experience: 4 years experience in marketing, business development, strategy consulting, investment banking, operations, or finance;
  • Detailed knowledge of financial statement analysis and valuation methodologies;
  • Demonstrated skills in valuation and financial modeling;
  • Behavioral Skills: curious and eager to learn, able to operate with high degree of autonomy, hard worker and team player;
  • Quick learner on industries, markets, products and technology;
  • Able to make proposals based on own findings;
  • Ability to travel up to 50%;
  • English fluency;
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills;
 
Desired Characteristics
 
Education
  • MBA, Petroleum engineering
 
Experience
  • 2 years M&A, Financial markets, strategy, consulting, investment banking, Energy or O&G industry;
