Due to our clients continued growth, they now require the services of an experienced Lead Subsea Systems Engineer.
 
Key Job Responsibilities:
·         Member of a multifunctional project team responsible for managing offshore subsea system development aspects for the Wheatstone Upstream development including, front-end engineering, detailed design, and interfaces with subsea, construction, installation, hookup, commissioning, and startup personnel.
·         Reporting to the Subsea & Pipelines Manager, has responsibility for coordination of the subsea system conceptual design (Phase 2C Pre-FEED), field development planning, reliability analysis, FEED and detailed engineering and analysis.
·         Provide insight and understanding of the facilities into which the subsea system connects and the interfaces within that facility that affect the operation of the subsea equipment. Take a leading role with respect to interfacing with the SBU operations to ensure compliance with SBU philosophies and local regulatory constraints.
·         The subsea system will comprise between 6 and 10 subsea gas wells and 2 to 4 subsea manifolds at field start-up, linked back to the main offshore production facility via a network of large diameter CRA flowlines. Diverless technology is planned for all intervention and installation activities. Experience with state of the art subsea equipment and proprietary vendor equipment designs is essential, as is an ability to effectively support market engagement activities and develop/manage supply contracts during Phases 3 and 4.
·         Assist in project execution planning coordinating subsea design aspects with the construction group to develop a fit for purpose design and complimentary installation plans.  Seek out and apply best practices and lessons learned from other projects.
·         Assist Subsea & Pipelines Manager direct the activities of Pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design contractors engineering personnel during Phases 2C, 3 and 4.  Ensure Subsea design engineering deliverables are of consistently high quality; recommendations are technically sound and cost effective.  Take a leading role in Subsea design assurance review process as part of the larger Upstream team to ensure successful phase gate Peer Review outcomes.
·         Support and direct subsea team members in the development of fit-for-purpose Subsea Bases of Design, specifications and standards, functional and material specifications, subsea architecture and corrosion management.  Ensure subsea designs meet project technical, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, and project objectives of operability, maintainability, reliability, and life cycle cost.
