We are looking for an Intermediate First Nation Consultation Specialist to join our Burnaby Office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the development of a rapidly growing First Nation Consultation Group, as well as assisting with the design, implementation and execution of projects in the power, mining, transportation, and other market sectors.
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing on-going support in the following areas:
- Management of projects;
- Supervision of junior staff;
- Executing technical work;
- Presenting at meetings; and,
- Preparing reports and proposals.
Preferred candidates will possess the following qualities and strengths:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related discipline with a minimum of three years relevant work experience;
- Proven oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, including knowledge of communicating protocols in First Nation settings;
- Ability to contribute to a team work environment, as well as to work independently;
- Knowledge and proven experience with social science methods and application, particularly community-based and qualitative research;
- Excellent working knowledge of BC First Nations, including aboriginal and treaty rights and claims and regulatory processes and legal decisions related to First Nations consultation; and,
- Ability and willingness to travel across BC
