Accountabilities:
Management of a team tasked with ensuring that Works Contracts are commercially executed in accordance with the Contract Terms, in compliance with the Company core procedures, to ensure the timely and profitable execution of the Project.
 
Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Manage a Contracts team or section within the Contracts and Procurement Department and ensure that the team or section manage their designated contracts or tasks in an effective and timely manner whilst ensuring that the Contracts are being properly managed.
  • Provide direction; set and monitor the Team and individuals objectives and monitor and manage the achievement of objectives.
  • Manage and administer one or several Works Contracts and ensure the Contracts are being properly managed in accordance with the terms of the Contract and the Company core procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Company Delegated authorities and Corporate Governance standards.
  • Ensure a robust process is in place and being implemented to properly manage Contract Instructions and Changes Orders in accordance with the Contract and the Company core procedures.
  • Ensure that proper records (including field and schedule records) of the impact of all instructions, changes and delays are being maintained and submitted.
  • Ensure that a robust process is in place to check, process and agree Applications for Payment and Invoices and ensure that any invalid amounts are withheld and the Contractor formally advised accordingly.
  • Resolve any Application/Invoice disputed amounts promptly and in accordance with the Contract; ensure all Contractual Notices are issued on time and in the proper format and detail.
  • Work with the Claims team to ensure that all Contractual Claims are properly evaluated and responded on within the prescribed timescales.
  • Ensure full confidentiality of all commercial and contractual information

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • A minimum of 5-10 years experience in the Contract Management/Contract Administration of Prime and/or Sub-Contracts in a Construction or Heavy Engineering environment. A Nuclear background is preferred but solid experience in other Power or Oil & Gas and Process sectors would also be considered.
  • An appropriate University Qualification.
  • A Professional qualification in Contracts Management, Contract Administration, Cost Engineering or Quantity Surveying etc is preferred.
