Position Duties / Responsibilities
Applies specialized knowledge of startup methods to the solution of specific problems. Provides the resolution of technical questions arising in the area of specialty. Uses advanced startup engineering techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of related sciences and disciplines.
- Plans, coordinates and executes difficult or specialized assignments within a type of industry or type of industrial process for startup, operations, maintenance and testing.
- Assists in the preparation of project proposals.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge within area of expertise regarding new concepts, approaches and solutions to problems.
- Assists in project design reviews and project operations manual preparation.
- Provides technical guidance and on-the-job training to subordinates and project personnel as assigned.
- Prepares and gives presentations to management, the client or others as directed.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for co-coordinating commissioning and startup efforts for acid gas removal plant amine unites (two trains)
- Develops and evaluates plans, procedures and criteria for a variety of project activities
- Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria and performance data relating to the specialty (amine Train)
- Provides technical advice and counsel on specific assignments
- Provides input and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed
- Performs field consulting services as required
Basic Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the specialty area and knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties. Specifically, subject must have significant experience in commissioning and starting up amine plants.
- Technical knowledge of startup, operations, maintenance and testing.
- Good knowledge of related oil and gas construction and engineering practices and the economics involved.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to the particular specialty.
- Well in oral and written English communication.
The above is normally acquired through:
- A recognized degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or
- A professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized licensing board, or
- A sufficient number of specialized courses in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline to meet the job requirements, and
- Extensive progressive work experience in the specialty (minimum 15 years relevant experience)
