The IT Contract Strategy Manager will ultimately be accountable for ensuring that specific performance of these contracts i.e. the contracting compliance and contract management process is optimised and efficient thus ensuring the benefits/value to be delivered through the strategic partnerships and associated contracts are sustained and maximised over time. This will require close collaboration with procurement professionals in the Indirect Procurement team as well as with [Company] Legal and relevant IT&S stakeholders. Whilst the initial focus of the role is on the AD & AM “ecosystem”, over time it is expected the scope of the role will be extended to cover other IT&S strategic suppliers and potentially strategic suppliers within the Indirect Procurement arena outside IT&S.
The role will report directly to the Director, IT Procurement.
Key accountabilities
- Establish the necessary ongoing contract strategies for defined strategic suppliers
- Be the “centre of excellence” for the contracting and contract management process support to Indirect Procurement Category Managers and business stakeholders
- To build and sustain in-depth knowledge and understanding of strategic vendor contracts
- Ensure contract activities comply with defined Segment/Function sourcing strategies
- Assist in transition, novation, amendment, termination and/or extension requirements for strategic contracts
- Supervise the contracting process so that it is executed in a timely, efficient fashion leveraging the Procurement Offshore Centre as required
- Verifying work is requested/scoped, managed and administered in timely accordance with the contract and sound business principles
- Provide contractual MI for relevant stakeholders including IT&S vendor managers, Indirect Procurement category & sourcing managers and Leadership Team members
- Participate in the strategic vendor management governance process as required
- Supporting the development of relevant category strategies
- Contributing to initial and contract renewal negotiations
Essential criteria & qualifications
- Experience in strategic sourcing and contracting activities (administration, project control, procurement and contract management)
- Broad post-contract management experience
- Experience with the procurement of complex service contracts
- Experience in the use of “best practice” procurement tools and methodologies
- Ability to lead, motivate and influence IT&S and Indirect Procurement stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of contract and commercial law
- Strong negotiating skills
- Able to develop, manage and maintain enhanced relationships with key suppliers
- Strong HSE management leadership skills
- University degree (3-4 year Bachelor degree) or equivalent
- MCIPS or equivalent qualification
- Experience with project management and contract management software and tools
Desirable criteria & qualifications
- IT experience preferred in relevant industry verticals and/or horizontals
- Professional qualifications – Chartered Institute of Purchasing
- Commercial contracts drafting/contract law knowledge
- Familiarity with technology contracts in a global business context
- Legal background and/or qualified
- Highly IT literate and advanced in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat, use of Sharepoint, contracts
