Overview:
 
[Employer] is currently looking for an experienced Manager to lead our Tank Inspection Services team. This position could be based from any one of our main offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, or St.John's.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • The Manager, Tank Inspection Services provides direction and leadership for the Tank Inspection Program in Canada, which comprises the staff of the Athabasca Oil Sands, Eastern, Pacific and Prairie regions.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a world class tank program including training, qualifications, procedures, reporting, and auditing.
  • Has authority over a group of technicians, technologists and inspectors.
  • Ensures successful accomplishment of projects to the client's satisfaction and standards set by [Employer] regarding ethics, quality and financial stewardship.
1. Safety:
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to develop and execute a system, training and culture for the safe execution of projects
2. Quality:
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to develop and execute a system, training and culture for the quality of results and service
3. Service:
  • Maintains strong working relationships with clients for each project by harbouring an environment of responsive service and frequent communication
4. General Management:
  • Build a strong Tank Inspection group through teamwork and professionalism. Enhance the group's performance by leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Define, develop and provide training and guidance to technologists and engineers-in-training. Provide support for the development and distribution of technical procedures, techniques and reports.
  • Supervision of staff including performance reviews, career management, job reviews, recruiting, and hiring.
What you will bring:
  • Five to ten years of diversified inspection and management experience after graduation from a technical college program, or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent time management, interpersonal, computer and project management skills.
  • Be able to work long hours in the office or on a job site and be able to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be self-motivated and independent and have a thorough understanding of conventional and advanced NDT techniques.
Preference for:
  • API 653 certified
  • NDT certifications (CGSB preferred)
  • Quality management experience from an ISO 9001:2000 certified company
  • Safety management experience from an AHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) certified company
