This position reports to Reservoir Engineering Manager

Description:

  • Specifically, the Reservoir Engineering Tech will:
  • Assist the company’s petroleum engineers and geoscientists in preparing oil and gas reserve reports and evaluations for property sales, acquisitions and mergers, and performing detailed oil and gas field studies.
  • Analyze and manage production and technical data from company and public information services.
  • Set up and maintain economic database files using in-house software programs (prior detailed experience in working with ARIES or similar economic evaluation programs is a must)
  • Review and verify reserve and economic projections for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing reports and exhibits for presentations to the regulatory, financial and investment communities.
  • Individual must be proficient  and well versed in the use of database management programs, spreadsheet software, Power Point and other technical computer programs commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
  • Individual must be highly motivated and self-disciplined and willing to work closely with similarly-minded professionals.
Qualifications:

Candidates possessing a technical bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.  The Reservoir Engineering Technician will be an intelligent, energetic, dedicated and driven individual, with a track record of at least 5 years experience.  The successful candidate will have experience in preparing oil and gas reserve reports and evaluations for property sales, acquisitions and mergers, and performing detailed oil and gas field studies.

The Reservoir Engineering Technician must be an articulate, organized, disciplined individual with a reputation for integrity and sound business judgment.  This individual must have the character and professionalism that will establish immediate credibility with the company and industry personnel.  The successful candidate must also have well-developed social and interpersonal skills, comfortable with applying current technology, and be able to communicate well and deal persuasively with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the company.
