Introduction:
A global EPC within the Oil&Gas industry are looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead their procurement function. Applicants must have Oil&Gas experience, and have worked on offshore, drilling or upstream projects.
Job Specification:
The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for leading a procurement team of 4 buyers, developing procurement & supply chain strategy, and achieving the lowest cost provision of all materials, equipment and services.
Additional accountabilities of the Senior Procurement Specialist include:
• Manage the capabilities and competency development of the Procurement team.
• Achieve and maintain the procurement of competitively priced materials and equipment
• Improved relationships with internal customers contractors, and functional teams
• Increased data accuracy, management ownership and user trust / confidence in the SAP Systems
• Increased visibility / audit ability across the integrated supply chain
• Improved lead time performance within procurement process ensuring timely delivery of goods
• Administration of the procurement cycle through the effective control of bid processes, awards, claims, and delivery of goods and services
• Develop and direct procurement and materials management process optimisation automation to improve efficiency and accuracy in the procurement process.
• Ensure best value achieved by competitive tendering, effective negotiation and procurement me)
Prospective Senior Procurement Specialists must have a background in the Oil & Gas industry, including significant experience working on offshore projects or drilling campaigns.
A strong understanding of the upstream Oil&Gas industry is essential and a CIPS qualification are highly desirable.
In addition to this the Senior Procurement Manager must possess:
• Influencing & negotiation skills
• Integrity
• Strong technical & analytical skills
• Networking skills
• University Degree or equivalent.
• Experience with the use of computerised materials management, preferably SAP.
