Our client, the Fort MacKay First Nation and its wholly-owned Fort McKay Group of Companies (FMGC) coupled with a number of high-profile joint venture partnerships, have grown into one of the more successful First Nation-owned business ventures in Canada, which in turn has created economic growth and opportunity for all members of the community. As the Band prepares for the future, it requires the skills and expertise of an experienced line manager and culturally sensitive professional for the position of:
General Manager – Steep Bank Earth LP
Working closely with the senior members of the Fort McKay Group of Companies, the General Manager will be charged with the management of all equipment and hard assets owned by the various LP’s and be responsible for identifying future asset requirements by coordinating a strategic full-cycle planning process regarding capital asset procurement, utilization, maintenance and eventual disposal. The preferred candidate will have had a minimum of 20 years of fleet management experience and must possess strong communication, organisational and leadership skills coupled with proven facilitation, conflict management and strategic thinking abilities in order to develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally to the various operating companies. Confident in their ability to build positive working relationships and create cross-functional synergism, the ideal candidate will have had previous experience in developing and implementing effective strategies and controls that effectively maximized the return on investment of capital deployed.
