Description:
Join the recognized leader in geophysical data processing. [Company] has openings for Sr. Seismic Imagers in our Houston, Texas location. In this position you will process 3D seismic data by applying wave propagation theories to reconstruct seismic data. Utilize knowledge of wavelet processing, noise attenuation techniques and imaging software for wave velocity model building. Select data processing parameters to ensure a high quality, timely and cost effective product.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement Quality Assurance methods to ensure the highest standards of quality
- Participate in group efforts to achieve maximum production and to meet turnaround requirements
- Track processing and resource status
- Mentor and develop Seismic Imagers and Jr. Imagers
- Organize and present QC products for client meetings
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors, Masters and/or PhD in Geophysics, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or other related technical degree
- 3+ years "hands-on" seismic data processing experience needed
- Must possess strong math skills and excellent problem solving skills
- Good knowledge of data quality assurance and quality control methods
- High energy level and positive attitude
- Ability to work well alone as well as in teams
- Eagerness to learn and accept challenging assignments
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Some experience with a UNIX environment
- Must have the legal right to live and work in the United States
