We are looking for people to take up various Team Lead positions including, but not limited to the following:
- Group Reporting
- Performance & Reporting
The Group Reporting lead will provide finance group reporting services to the businesses assigned and ensure the monthly, quarterly and annual close procedures are completed on time.
The Performance and Reporting Lead Analyst will need to provide Management Information Report and financial outlook to the business supported.
Key accountabilities Overall:
- Responsible for activities carried out by the team
- Ensure accuracy of data and meeting deadlines
- Ensure compliance with the country’s legal and fiscal regulatory framework
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Group policies and reporting requirements
- Support the implementation of process standardisation and improvement
- Monitor team’s KPIs.
- Ensure that there is no control incident
- Attend to requests from businesses/functions
- Develop strong communications and relationships with client contacts.
- Coach and develop members of the team and coordinate team activities
Group Reporting
- Deliver Finance Group Reporting services to the business(es) assigned to the role
- Execution of monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, and accurate reporting in accordance with Finance Standards and Practices
- Support the delivery of timely and accurate Statutory accounts and Tax analyses through liaison with Statutory/Tax Reporting teams and external auditors
- Co-ordinate preparation of audit schedules, review accounting data for disclosure items and attend to audit queries relating to accounting transactions
- The person holding the role is expected to be able to work autonomously on complex entities, and may be asked to take on a supervisory role for junior staff.
- The role is exposed to issues facing the clients in the portfolio, and Lead Accountants are required to develop a thorough understanding of the client organisation and business in order to be able to deliver a quality service.
- Support Business clients in understanding their General Ledger and Group reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate Group Accounts submissions and drive for consistent improvement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and higher quality Group Accounts reviews
- Ensure the team fully complies with the Balance Sheet Integrity standard and reports on a timely and correct basis to the Internal Control team on ledgers for which the team is responsible
- Work with the Internal Control team to perform periodic self assessment activities and facilitate internal and external audit review
- Liaise with Outsourced Service Providers
Performance & Reporting Lead Analyst:
- To support specific business focused Performance & Reporting and provide timely and accurate Management Information (“MI”) to the relevant Business and Finance organisation
- Support provision of timely and accurate Group Financial Outlook forecast and plan data
- Support for developing new reporting processes and methodologies
- Support for sharing best reporting practices in team and with partners.
Essential criteria & qualifications
- Degree in Accounting and/or recognised professional accounting qualification, e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA.
- A member with Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
- Minimum 8 years post degree accounting experience with minimum 2 yrs in managing a team
- Have experience of Group reporting and MI processes.
- Have knowledge in current accounting standards and their applications with internal control experience.
- Good understanding of Finance processes and systems, including key interfaces between businesses and functions.
- Able to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery against tight deadlines
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
Desirable criteria & qualifications
- Experience in financial system development and implementation is highly desirable.
- Hands on experience on systems report writing through visual basic or business objects etc is highly desirable.
- Experience in handling accounting/financial reporting of countries within Asia Pacific or other regions.
- Hands-on experience in JDE accounting system preferred.
- For those supporting China, must be fluent in Mandarin
- Able to travel up to 3 months out of Malaysia
- Successful candidates must be open to work on odd shift hours.
