Role synopsis
To provide chemical engineering knowledge and experience to the Acetyls Asset Improvement Teams, providing technical support to global manufacturing assets and implementing the programme of gap closure work.
Key accountabilities
- Provide HSSE leadership in all activities.
- Take responsibility for providing chemical engineering support and being the main point of contact for one (or more) of the manufacturing assets.
- As part of the team identify, design, cost and evaluate any options to reduce the costs of production or to increase plant capacity of the manufacturing assets. Manage and track progress of these gap closure projects for the relevant assets.
- Ensure all engineering standards and process safety requirements are met in any proposed modifications or improvements to the manufacturing assets.
- Analyse manufacturing asset performance, tracking costs of production and monitoring trends in utilisation and efficiency.
- Communicate production performance information, identify key issues to manufacturing asset staff and highlight lessons learned and best practices for implementation elsewhere.
- Work with appropriate Project Teams to support the design of new assets/projects if required. As part of the team, commission any new equipment or help to support major plant commissioning as/when required.
- Develop strong relationships with the relevant manufacturing assets. This will require some periods of travel and working closely with manufacturing engineers from different cultures.
Essential criteria & qualifications
- Degree in chemical engineering
- Minimum five years experience in a technology or manufacturing environments
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven expertise in the application of chemical engineering skills and experience.
- Proven experience in analyzing plant information and data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Track record of technical excellence and delivery in a technology or manufacturing environment
