Overview:
[Company], a Fortune 50 Company, has immediate openings for Apprentice Inland Towboat Engineers in its Marine Transportation Organization located in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. [Company]'s boats operate on the Western and Inland Waterways systems. Boats are scheduled on a 28 day-on/28 day-off schedule.
Responsibilities:
They must be capable of performing preventive maintenance and major maintenance procedures on the following: diesel engines and associated equipment, governors, air and electronic controls systems, reduction gears, AC generators, electrical switchboards and electrical equipment, air compressors and hydraulic steering systems, refrigeration systems, air conditioning and heating systems, and sewage treatment and plumbing systems.
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is required; experience with PLCs is preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills are critical as are leadership skills.
