Contract Role:
Based in Perth until April 2010 then Ulsan, Korea for 18 months and then offshore for 3 to 6 months
Purpose of the role:
To support the Completion Coordinator Electrical to deliver flawlessly the Electrical systems to NWS Operations
Objectives of the Position:
· Ensure systems are successfully integrated
· Ensure that systems are commissioned flawlessly
· Ensure systems achieve and are demonstrated as achieving BOD required performance
· To ensure smooth commissioning and handover to NWS Supply operations
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
· Assume HSE leadership duties and encourage and empowered safety culture.
· Execute onshore and offshore commissioning Electrical scope.
· Developing and writing all the Commissioning Test Procedures and developing all the Completions Management Systems ITR’s, FTR’s and databases etc.
· Determining most effective methods of cut over and hook up installation for Electrical.
· Develop scope of work for carry over, hook up and cut over including scope sheets, job cards, bagging/tagging of materials and consumables requirements for the offshore hook up phase in the area of Electrical
· Carry out punch listing; verify preservation and sea fastening requirements.
This Project will unlock large reserves from the Australian North West Shelf by the introduction of compression on a bridge linked platform adjacent to the existing platform. The introduction of the additional facilities will involve complex tie-ins into a producing platform whose continued operation is critical to the viability of the business. The project has a cost of about AUD 5 billion
The project has significant interface with operating assets. Failure to manage these interfaces can result in massive unbudgeted expenditure, substantial delays to Reliable Gas Demands with consequent impact on revenue streams. Failure to be seen to be successfully delivering these projects can materially affect the business.
The position needs to establish strong working relationships between groups, significant contractors, each asset operation and Business planning organisation. The position needs to develop clear communications, process and trust.
Key Systems and Processes:
This position is responsible for the execution of all systems and processes necessary to deliver flawlessly the Electrical systems for the project
Qualifications & Experience:
· The Commissioning and Hook Up Electrical Engineer role requires a formally recognised Electrical qualification, electrical system commissioning and hook up experience with significant Brownfields interface with at least 10-15 years experience in high end oil & gas projects and minimum 10 yrs proven experience as a commissioning specialist with specific competency in high voltage power generation and distribution systems, UPS systems, power management systems, serial communications and interfaces to protection relays, intelligent motor starters and Control Systems and electrical hazardous area equipment.
· Exposure to all phases of project life –fabrication yard, offshore hook up and Operations – as well as commissioning and start up is preferred. As a minimum commissioning and start up experience is required.
· Experience of direct responsibility for leading teams (min 5 yrs) is required.
