PURPOSE
- As Support Engineer for South Oman surface facilities (Static equipment, Pipelines, Flow lines).
- Manage short term (stop gap) integrity projects by preparing scope of work, sourcing materials, arranging the execution that includes but is not limited to approving cost estimate, execution plan, schedule, QA/QC with PDO Contractors (On Plot & Off Plot).Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) approval is in consultation with the Function.
- Review tanks annual inspection & maintenance plan. Prepare annual budget OPEX/CAPEX. Drive and monitor tanks inspection and maintenance plan with Contractor.
- Prepare scope of work for tanks repair based on the inspection/integrity reports and recommendation
- Set up work order with Contractor for execution of the work including approving cost estimate, execution plan/schedule, QA/QC. QA/QC approval is in consultation with the Function.
- Review and ensure the proposed materials selection, corrosion mitigation, corrosion monitoring and inspection strategies from are in place and technically sound and acceptable.
- Provide assistance and support for 90 day activity planning.
- Provide support to the Maintenance Coordinators on maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, the function and interior personnel to ensure systems, people, processes and resources required to manage integrity are in place and fit for purpose throughout the lifecycle of the asset.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
To ensure that Maintenance and Inspection of equipment described above is carried out as per plan.
- Deliver short term integrity projects within budget and in accordance with [Company] standards.
- Deliver tank maintenance/repair projects within budget and in accordance with [Company] standards.
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) matters are given due consideration during maintenance.
- Work effectively as part of a multi-discipline team in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ensure materials selected for repairs or replacement is in-line with [Company] standards.
- In conjunction with the function actively pursue the evaluation and application of new technology in order to optimise future developments in terms of cost and operability. Push developments where applicable.
- Ensure a proper economic evaluation of material / process options has taken place.
- Establish and maintain contact with North and Gas asset teams on relevant technical matters.
- Establish and maintain contact with [Company] Materials and Corrosion section on technical issues to ensure up-to-date information, company experience, knowledge and preference is input into the replacement or new project.
- Follow up on integrity issues as and when required.
- Establish and maintain contact with pipeline section to ensure maintenance and inspection activities are delivered in line with the plan.
- Where possible generate and stimulate cost saving and/or schedule reduction initiatives without compromising HSE, technical integrity and quality.
- Participate in relevant Design reviews & HAZOP’s with Concept related to static equipment for new projects.
- Initiate OPEX/CAPEX budget proposal for maintenance, repair and inspection for static equipment and on plot piping, flow lines and interfiled pipelines and headers. Managing the phasing and follow up the spending.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s) for any failure with the deferment of more than 500 M3/d and follow up the implementation of the RCA recommendations.
- Ensure that any deviations, design changes and variations are properly processed, recorded, reviewed and approved by the appropriate authority.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
- Minimum qualification required Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Science.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the petroleum industry, of which minimum of 5 years has been spent in Static Equipment Integrity Assessment & Inspection or related functions. Managing of small integrity projects.
