Description:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for providing contract and procurement support for a variety of pipeline and facilities rojects on IPFs pipeline systems. This 18 month contract
position is located in the Calgary office and reports directly to the General Manager of Project Development. There is a possibility of full time employment at the end of the contract.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
Providing contract management services for IPFs Project Development Group including:
- Preparing tender documents for contracts associated to the execution of new capital projects such as pump stations and pipelines.
- Managing bidding processes and correspondence with contractors, suppliers and service providers.
- Administering contract change processes.
- Managing direct procurement including expediting and receipt of large-scale materials such as pipe, valves, pumps and motors.
- Developing procurement terms and conditions.
- Working collaboratively with IPF legal department to ensure proper review of all contract documents.
- Providing guidance and mentoring personnel in the best practices of contract and procurement management.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 7 to 12 years of experience in contract and procurement management related to oil and gas development projects.
- Demonstrated history of successful collaborative work with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of contract law.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Can effectively work in a team environment with multiple assignments.
- Develop a positive rapport with business partners.
