Oil and Gas Well Drilling Worker Specific Skills:
- Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick
- Assist in setting up,
- taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs
Oil and Gas Well Services Operator Specific Skills:
- Drive well services truck to well site, Attach pumps and hoses to wellhead,
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems,
- Read gauges to interpret conditions and adjust pumping procedure,
- Mix chemicals and cements
Additional Skills:
- Train and supervise floorhands, assistants and helpers
- Security and Safety: Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads,
- Physically demanding,
- Manual dexterity,
- Attention to detail,
- Hand-eye co-ordination,
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
Work Site Environment:
- Outdoors, At heights, Confined spaces
Transportation/Travel Information:
- Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel, Travel expenses paid by employer

- Remote location, Various locations, Relocation costs not covered by employer
