Job Description:
- The selected individual will be responsible for leading R&D in the area of heterogeneous catalyst modeling. Below are the key roles and responsibilities for this position:
- Identifying new materials modeling research areas and driving development of new modeling techniques and platforms
- Developing multi-scale models of the interaction of hydrocarbons with catalysts
- Provide fundamental insights on the key properties of materials which impact catalytic behavior
- Collaborating with catalyst synthesis, characterization and performance testing experts, to enable model-guided materials R&D
Candidate should have the following qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical program leadership, and to lead cross-functional R&D teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Working experience with multi-scale simulation methods such as density functional theory, monte-carlo simulation, molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics, and their application to catalyst structure modeling
- Strong fundamental understanding of heterogeneous catalysis and chemical kinetics is needed
- Programming and scripting skills required
- Background in non-linear and linear regression modeling techniques strongly desired
