The Quality Surveillance (QS) functions major responsibility is to ensure that all [Company] suppliers produce and deliver according to the engineering and project requirements including documentation, and thus perform production follow-up at suppliers premises. The Material specialist/QS lead will also be technical support for engineering, purchasers and suppliers in metallurgical matters.
 
The Material specialist/QS lead also cooperates with suppliers to educate them and assist during the production, ant to participate in the selection of new suppliers, nationally and internationally. This requires good knowledge of production methods, and our products and engineering requirements.
 
 
Work Tasks and areas of responsibility:
 
  • Work Packages/Orders- Responsible for follow-up of suppliers and perform inspection and expediting, to ensure the quality of purchased goods
  • Specialized Area – Raw materials, Forgings and castings
  • Evaluation – Participate in the evaluation of suppliers
  • Audit – Cooperate with Quality Assurance for Audits of suppliers
  • Reporting - Report to Procurement Lead for materials
  • HSE - Ensure that all work supplier documentation and routines are in accordance with our Health and Safety
  • Administration of external and 3rd Party Inspectors
  • Assist engineering, procurement and suppliers in material matters
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • Applicants with experience within the following disciplines in the offshore business are preferred: Production of Forgings and castings, Metallurgy knowledge, general Subsea Equipment knowledge
  • Ability to negotiate an communicate at all levels
  • Conversant with engineering, procurement and manufacturing systems, practices and processes
  • Subsea/offshore experience
  • Educational level: BSc or higher in Metallurgy or Engineering (Offshore, piping, Machining, Naval architecture, Mechanical) Relevant experience can compensate for education
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems and engineering principles
  • Competent with Microsoft applications

  • Analytical with skills for planning
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
  • Good personal motivation and actively seek new challenges
  • No restrictions for international traveling
