Job Description:
We are currently looking for an Oracle DBA to join our team. The Oracle DBA is responsible for supporting the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability, and security. Requires in-depth skills in Oracle database administration, SQL programming, Unix and/or Windows operating systems, relational database systems and structures, problem solving, and communication.
Responsibilities include:
- Administer, maintain, support, optimize, and monitor production database environments along with multiple QA, development, and disaster recovery environments on Windows and Unix (HP-UX) platforms.
- Plan and implement database software upgrades including but not limited to new installations, critical patch upgrades, maintenance releases, and version upgrades.
- Develop custom PL/SQL stored procedures, Unix shell scripts, or Windows scripts to automate various daily DBA operations.
- Implement database changes as submitted by the development team and in accordance with the IT Change Management Policy.
- Investigate and resolve difficult and advanced database application problems and performance issues, working individually and in coordination with the Server Operations and application support teams.
- Support high availability database infrastructure including but not limited to RMAN backup/recovery and standby databases for disaster recovery.
- Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of the databases in accordance with IT Security and Sarbanes-Oxley adherence policies.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced DBA and application support team members.
- Document and improve existing and new processes.
- Work a flexible schedule. Some after hours are required, including but not limited to a monthly maintenance window and potential work from the DR facility as a "first responder".
Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Oracle Certification preferred.
- 7+ years Oracle Database Administration experience required.
- 1+ year Oracle RMAN experience is required.
- 1+ year Oracle DataGuard experience is required.
- 1+ year Unix and/or Windows experience (HP-UX) preferred.
- Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Oracle iAS experience is preferred.
- Data Marts, Data Warehouses, and/or Business Objects experience preferred.
