Skill Requirements:
- Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):
- St. John's Ambulance First-Aid Certificate, Canadian Red Cross First-Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate,
- Emergency First Response Course, Advanced Life Support Skills Certificate, Restricted Radio-telephone Operator Certificate, Driver's licence
Experience:
- 1 to less than 7 months
- Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
- Driver's Record: Driver's abstract
- Work Setting: Private ambulance company, Construction company
Specific Skills:
- Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment, Administer pre-hospital emergency care,
- Administer medications and provide advanced emergency treatments to patients,
- Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided,
- Maintain ambulances and emergency care equipment and supplies
Security and Safety:
- Basic security clearance, Confidential security clearance, Criminal record check, Immunization records, Driver's validity licence check
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity
Transportation/Travel Information:
Essential Skills:
- Reading text, Writing, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory, Computer use, Continuous learning
