Integrated Oil Division
The Integrated Oil Division (IOD) is responsible for [Employer] integrated business, including our upstream and downstream partnership with [Employer]. The core assets of this partnership are heavy oil producing facilities operated at Foster Creek and Christina Lake in Alberta, and refinery assets operated by ConocoPhillips at Wood River in Illinois, U.S. and Borger in Texas, U.S. EnCana's assets outside the partnership include Athabasca Gas and Borealis, Senlac projects, and Kitimat.
Business Unit Description:
Athabasca Gas
The Athabasca Gas Sub Business Unit (SBU) is responsible for natural gas production for the Division. This facility is located 1.5 hours north of Bonnyville / Cold Lake Alberta, location is on the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range. Production
Operations consists of gas production mainly on the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range and in areas north of Fort McMurray.
Statement:
[Employer] Board of Directors has recently approved a proposal to proceed with a corporate reorganization to split [Employer] into two independent, focused energy companies: one an integrated oil company to be named [Company] , and the other a pure play natural gas company to retain the name [Company] Corporation. This transaction is expected to close November 30, 2009. Upon completion of this transaction, this position will be with [Company]
Overview:
The Integrated Oil Division has an excellent opportunity for a Contract PVR (Production Volume Reporting) Technologist to contribute to the success of our Athabasca Gas assets.
In this role, you will focus on supporting daily operational needs to ensure production reporting is captured and recorded effectively. Working within a fully integrated team, you will work closely with field operations staff and our production accounting group.
This facility you will support is located approximately 1.5 hours north of Bonnyville, Alberta and 1.5 hours north-west of Cold Lake, Alberta. The successful candidate will work a shift rotation of 10 hours per day, 4 days on, 3 days off from our Cold Lake office, but will travel to and from site as required.
Responsibilities:
- ensure that the daily PVR numbers are correct for Production Accounting
- work with operations to ensure that all data is entered and captured in PVR
- work with the field group to ensure that trending, reporting and production data is easily accessible for the group. This would require the candidate to develop and implement the use of spreadsheets and graphs to aid in the discussions and information sharing between the groups
- understand SCADA system and how to change required information
Qualifications:
- 2+ years related experience with PVR
- gas well production accounting experience or any field experience within the gas and oil sector would be an asset
- proficiency in standard computer applications is required
- knowledge of PVR, PI Data Link, Wellview and Processnet would be an asset
- well developed organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to shift priorites and work effectively within an innovative team environment
