Overview:
 
The Drafting and Drawing Management Team has an excellent opportunity for an  Engineering Design and Drafting Technician/Technologist to support the business initiatives of the Canadian Plains Division.
 
Working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, the primary responsibility is to provide high quality drafting and drawing management services.  This position will appeal to individuals with strong interpersonal and technical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
 
Responsibilities:
  • develop and maintain strong relationships with EPCM's (Engineering Procurement and Construction Management Firms)
  • coordinate engineering document management between EPCMs, facilities engineering and field operations for the Canadian Plains Division 
  • ensure accuracy and quality of drawings meets Cenovus standards; mitigate and resolve drafting and design issues.
  • provide training on ODMS (On-line Drafting management system) as well as drafting and drawing standards to major stakeholders
  • provide CAD Management expertise to internal IT groups
  • generate quarterly Drawing/Drafting reports
  • participate in continuous improvement of drafting and drawing processes
  • respond to stakeholder requests for drawing information and custody and ensure timely return of drawings into the drafting management software
  • assist with managing Alberta one-call/line find
Qualifications:
  • must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma (or equivalent) is required
  • knowledge of AutoCAD 2004 (or higher) is required
  • 3+ years of applicable design and drafting and/or technical document control experience
  • proficiency with MS Office Suite, LISP routines, mapping software (such as Accumap) and Bentley (MicroStation) would be an asset
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate well with EPCMs, as well as internal engineering, maintenance and operations personnel
  • self motivated; able to work both independently and as part of a group
  • highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes and systems
  • member of ASET (TT/Associate) is preferred
