Description:
This application support assignment is with [Company] Upstream Information Technology Shared Services (ITSS) - Drilling, Production and Operations (DPO) Application support team based in Houston, TX. This position provides application support for Upstream Houston based groups in addition to participating in global and regional leveraged application support teams supporting the Upstream organization as a whole.
The position will be co-located with the business in Houston.
The assignment is a technical / analytical position providing application support for Lower-48 Field Data Management (FDM) applications. This analyst provides all aspects of application support and integration to ensure the business needs are met. The successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal skills to enable coordination between the business and Information Technology Shared Service delivery teams.
The Application Support Analyst is responsible to:
Provide all aspects of day to day application support to deliver a reliable and effective application to our user community. Strong focus on prioritizing and managing business requests with direct focus on delivering outstanding customer service and application stability.
Coordinate application specific break-fix and maintenance activities across ITSS groups using established processes.
Implement and maintain application interfaces as appropriate.
Perform SQL and Unix scripting to troubleshoot interface and database issues.
Coordinate work with our IT Business Partner to ensure we meet business requirements.
Engage central ITSS to provide leveraged services where appropriate.
Establish application-specific support service level agreements.
Develop and maintain application system technical documentation.
Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
At least five years experience in SQL & PLSQL scripting.
At least five years experience with Oracle and relational databases.
Bachelor's Degree
At least five years experience supporting business application systems.
Experience supporting Upstream Field Data Management applications.
At least five years experience writing and supporting Unix shell scripts.
Ability and willingness to perform after hours support when necessary.
Project leadership experience
Preferred:
Experience supporting field data capture applications specifically Avocet.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to quickly recognize, isolate, and resolve technical problems.
Customer focused, business driven, and strong interpersonal skills
General understanding of Windows technologies (Citrix, Web, Database, etc) and how these technologies are leveraged to deliver application systems to the business
Upstream application support experience
Application development experience. Understanding of VB6, C# and .NET framework.
Strong verbal/written communication skills.
Must be self-driven and possess the ability to multi-task effectively.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
