Responsibilities:
Analyze & interpret geological & geophysical data to develop production opportunities. Build & evaluate large, complex computerized geological models in Petrel & Gocad 3D modeling software. Perform upscaling of reservoir structure & properties from the fine-scale geologic models (Petrel/Gocad) to VIP or Eclipse simulation models. Evaluate technical uncertainty & flow paths in reservoir to determine by-passed oil & improved recovery opportunities. Present methodology & project evaluation to technical management. Participate in integrated reservoir management & surveillance projects. Perform reservoir characterization & advanced geostatistical routines in Petrel & Gocad 3D modeling software. Review petrographic core analysis, conventional core analysis, capillary pressure data & depositional facies, with wireline logs to determine reservoir rock properties & flow characteristics of hydrocarbon recoveries. Integrate seismic, core, engineering, petrophysical and drilling data into geologic model. Convert seismic structure into depth with DepthTeamExpress, GeoGraphix & Zmap tools. Investigate possible reservoir trends distribute rock properties in the geologic models through 3D seismic attributes and well data analysis. Utillize OpenWorks, Zmap, GeoGraphix, StratWorks, and SeisWorks to interpret accurately subsurface structure by creating contour maps and cross sections.
Required Qualifications:
Position requirements: Degree in Geology or related as follows: Bachelor’s and 5 years experience or Master’s and 2 years experience. Experience with: Petrel 3D modeling software; OpenWorks; Zmap; Geographix; StratWorks; SeisWorks; and upscaling of reservoir structure, reservoir characterization, and core data analysis
