Our client, a large company with oil and gas interests in Canada, US, and abroad has a requirement for a contract SENIOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER.
Experience Required:
- Database Development, Warehousing, Query Optimization - 5 to 10 years experience
- Business Objects - 2 to 5 years experience
- Informatica - 1 to 3 years experience
- Unix Scripts/Cron Jobs - 1 to 2 years experience
- VB6 Development - 2 to 5 years experience
- Solid communication skills
- Proven business and technical analytical skills - 5 to 10 years experience
- Strong background in reporting applications - 5 to 10 years experience
- Experience in financial oil & gas systems - 2 to 5 years experience
- Ability to work in team and independently - 2 to 5 years experience
Nice to Have Skills:
Position Description:
- This is a senior development and support role concentrating largely on the desktop and database development space.
- The successful candidate will be supporting proprietary financial applications developed in VB6. This requires a sound relational database background in Sybase, Oracle, and MS SQL Server (specifically - db warehouses, stored procedure development in Transact-SQL and PL/SQL, and query optimization).
- Other responsibilities include the development of reports and universes in Business Objects, workflow development in Informatica, and the maintenance of Unix cron jobs.
- Financial experience in the Oil and Gas sector is preferred.
