Description:
Great Plains Oilfield Rental, a[Company] , is seeking to fill the position of Environmental Specialist. This successful candidate will oversee the Great Plains environmental program in the Appalachian Region. While working under minimal supervision the employee will be responsible for maintaining environmental compliance, obtaining and maintaining proper permits, and acting as the liaison between GPOR and local organizations.
The candidate should have experience in the following areas:
Responsibilities:
•Experience working in a fast paced transportation or logistics environment
•Transportation of hazmat and deleterious materials
•Experience with compliance, permitting, waste removal, and management
•Working knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
•Efficient knowledge of the Clean Water Act
•Comfortable with National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
•Presenting reports to senior management
•Compile statistics, prepare reports and maintain appropriate compliance records
Qualifications:
•Live or be willing to permanently relocate to the operational area
•Prior experience in the Oil and Gas industry is preferred
•In-depth knowledge of permitting, laws, and compliance issues
•Past experience functioning in an environmental role with water and waste being areas of responsibility
•Able to work odd hours and overtime when needed
•Efficient using standard office software programs such as: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
•Able to communicate effectively to senior management and regulatory officials
•Skilled at building positive relationships with government officials
•Able to travel to site locations with some overnight travel possible
